Welcome to the “Core Beliefs” of “The Southern Elephant.” Here, Big Earl, our wise and charismatic mascot, shares the foundational principles that guide our Conservative values, deeply inspired by the vision and wisdom of our Founding Fathers. Faith

The Founding Fathers, particularly George Washington and John Adams, emphasized the role of religion in public life. Washington famously said, “Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports.”

Family

Family is the heart of society. We emphasize the significance of strong family bonds, traditional family structures, and the responsibilities of parenting. Our Founding Fathers, like John Adams, believed in the importance of family as a pillar of society. Adams wrote, “The foundation of national morality must be laid in private families.” A healthy family environment fosters personal development and societal stability.

Freedom

Freedom is the essence of the American spirit, deeply cherished by the Founding Fathers. Thomas Jefferson eloquently captured this sentiment in the Declaration of Independence, asserting that all men are endowed with “unalienable Rights” including “Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” Protecting freedom means safeguarding the Constitution and ensuring that government actions do not infringe upon our fundamental rights. Limited Government

We advocate for a government that respects the boundaries set by the Constitution, as envisioned by James Madison, the “Father of the Constitution.” Madison warned, “The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined.” Limited government ensures that power remains with the people, promotes efficiency, and prevents overreach. This principle supports free enterprise and individual responsibility.

Personal Responsibility

Personal responsibility is vital for a functioning society. We believe that individuals should be accountable for their actions and decisions. This principle encourages self-reliance, hard work, and ethical behavior, fostering a culture of personal growth and community contribution. Benjamin Franklin famously advocated for personal responsibility and self-improvement, advising, “Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.”

Free Markets

Strong National Defense
